Import a save file
Problem Description
Issue
Im trying to take an existing save game from my enshrouded servers and import them into the AMP Server files. When i copy and paste them into the AMP file manager and restart the server it will just create new save files and ignore the one i pasted.
Reproduction Steps
- Copy Existing save game
- use file manager to paste save game into enshrouded save game folder
- delete new save games that AMP generated
- reload server
Make sure you’re using AMP’s file manager and/or AMP’s built-in SFTP, as the Windows File Explorer will break file permissions. (run ampinstmgr fixperms in CMD to resolve any permission issues)
I am using the integrated file manager, I added the same game folder from my existing enshrouded game files as a virtual directory. When i delete the new save game files made by the AMP instance and paste in the old save game file and index file, then restart the instance it will just create a new save file and ignore the files i put in there.
I haven’t played the game myself, but I’d suggest looking in the settings to see if there’s a way to specify the world’s “name” if Enshrouded has anything similar to that
Thanks for the help, I did get this resolved and working. The changes only ever stuck when the instance was stopped and put into “idle” mode and then I made the changes using winscp then started the server again.
Almost all servers need to be stopped when changing things like that. The instance (AMP) can be running, just not the game server itself
