Take a Backup

Problem Description

Issue

On my enshrouded server I cannot take backups. The notification pops up, then the counter goes to 0 and the notification goes away and no backup happens

Reproduction Steps

  • Manage Application from Web UI
  • Go To Backups Tab and Enter Backup Name
  • Begin the process by clicking the button

Is this a brand new instance? If so try turning on “Smart Backup Exclusions” in the configuration and trying again.

I turned that on immediately after install. Haven’t been able to get it to do a backup. I tried making a new one and see if it works on the new one, but it didn’t unfortunately.

What do the instances logs say after you try and manually create a backup?

The latest update of Enshrouded breaks up the 12GB data file into smaller files, which should overcome this issue

Ah the backup size exceeds the default size limit. Seems the smart exclusions don’t work for this server type, as it apparently wants to back up all the data files as well.
