Direwolf20 1.21 update issue

OS Name/Version:
Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS

Product Name/Version: (Always use the full version number - not ‘Latest’)
Feed the Beats (new source) → FTB Presents Direwolf20 1.21 (1.4.1) [trying to update to 1.8.0]

Problem Description:
I am having an issue where I want to upgrade my Direwolf20 1.21 server to release 1.8.0 from 1.4.1. Amp only has 1.4.1 as an option.

I also attempted to upgrade NeoForge from 21.1.83 (from 21.1.74) in order to force the update. no dice. swapping back to Feed the Beats (new source) after updating NeoForge does not show a change.

I feel as though I am missing a critical step. I haven’t found anything from google or knowledge base.

Stop/start the instance from the main panel to reset the version cache.
If that doesn’t work, download the direwolf server pack from FTB’s website and upload that

Are you referring to the Game instance or the AMP instance?

I am also not familiar with the “manual” way of uploading and installing a newer version of a server.

If it helps at all. I am running AMP on an on-site homelab server via proxmox (Ubuntu as stated above).

I have restarted AMP proper and am still experiencing the same symptoms.

You could stop the Minecraft instance, use the main panel’s file manager to browse to the instance and delete it’s ModpacksCache.json file, and start it again.
If that still doesn’t bring up the latest version of the pack, you’d want to do the following:

  • Go to FTB’s site and grab the modpack’s server installer
  • Run the installer on your PC
  • Upload the files to AMP over AMP’s built-in SFTP, not the one on port 22 (use WinSCP or FileZilla, connection details are in the upper right of the file manager)
  • From there you set the NeoForge version to what the pack needs and you should be good
