I will state im new to the whole personnel server thing but, I’m trying to run a world me, and some friends play on space engineers. it has a few mods (8 i think) but i don’t know how to get them from steam to the server’s folder. im also not quite sure how exactly to move my pervious world from my pc to the server folder. im running the server on a mini pc vs on my main rig. i would love any advice that can be offered.
Reproduction Steps
- looked in FAQ
- tried to find answer on youtube
- browsed in settings
To get your world to the server, start up the server and join it so it generates a world. Stop the server. From the instance’s sidebar menu select File Manager. Navigate to Servers > Saves. The folder you want to replace is World (or whatever you named your world if you changed it from the default. You need to grab your local world from %appdata%/SpaceEngineers/saves. Take the contents of that world folder, and replace all of the server’s world folder contents with em.
As for mods, supposedly we’re supposed to go to Configuration > Updates when managing the instance. There, you’ll see a text area where you and the mod id’s, one per line. I haven’t gotten this to work just yet, not sure why.
I googled it and it led me to a couple posts here. They weren’t answered, so hopefully this helps you.
