Problem Description

Issue

When I ported my self run windows server over to amp, everything works except the simple voice chat mod. I went to settings and added the port for the mod. I was prompted to restart, I clicked restart now, but the server didn’t restart. I restart manually and it still doesn’t work. also in the ports listening tab after clicking manage instance, the 24454 UDP port doesn’t show up as listening or not listening like the other two server ones do.

Reproduction Steps

  • I had a working server with the correct port forwarding in place to allow for simple voice chat
  • I ported over to amp using the recommended method
  • I added the correct 24454 UDP port in amp

Note, UDP ports don’t usually show as active until they receive a connection.
So the port status isn’t always the indicator you’re looking for, and you’ll want to log into the server and test it.

Okay, in the server it doesn’t work. Everyone gets a plug with a dashed line through it icon meaning simple voice chat isn’t working

Are you running server software that supports the mod you added?

to my knowledge yes. again the voice mod worked before I ported the Minecraft server over to amp. the voice mod is up to date v1.21.3-2.5.27, amp is running version 2.6.0.8 - 20250124.1, the newest version as of right now.

AMP’s version wouldn’t have anything to do with that. What Minecraft Server Type do you have selected?

Oh, I’m silly. I thought I went through all the config areas, but I guess I didn’t see the area about telling amp I’m running fabric. I changed everything to the correct option, and simple voice chat works now. One more question though. one of the details it asks to fill in is what fabric installer version to use. I tried looking in the files to see which one we used but couldn’t find it so I left it at the default 1.0.1 is that okay

Yeah, as far as I understand it’s fine to leave that as the default.
The FabricLoader version sometimes depends for some mods, but most of them are compatible with the latest release.

Okay, thank you for your help.
