Problem Description

Issue

I started this server and added the modpack Prominence II RPG: Hasturian Era. This modpack is for minecraft 1.20.1 and used fabric 0.16.10. All I did was download the modpack from curseforge and then extract the zip download into the mods folder. The server is recognized on MC and shows a connection with 0/20 players and when I try to connect I get an error of “internal exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.land.IndexOutOfBoundsException: index: 14, lenght:105 (expected: range(0,62))”

I’m not sure why this is happening but hopefully I can get some help.

Reproduction Steps

  • created mc world
  • added mods to config
  • loaded mc on curseforge and opened modpack added to server
  • cannot join server even when server shows it’s on and available

Did you set the Server Type to Fabric and the Minecraft version to 1.20.1 in the instance’s settings?

yes fabric is set and using 0.16.10 and minecraft version is set to 1.20.1

The Server Jar is set to the fabric jar, and you have all the mod .jar files in the mods folder? (an inner folder or a zip won’t work)

I am trying to use a modpack that is already made. I have tried putting the all the mods that are in the modpack into the mods folder on the server but it still will not let me connect when loading the modpack through curseforge.

You’ll want to check your logs/latest.log for errors

looks like the log says I’m getting a spark tps error possibly an error with the modpack using spark?

That’s not an actual error, that just means you don’t have spark installed
(I’m assuming, because you didn’t share the actual error)
