Problem Description
Issue
I have been made aware that Java’s trash storage uses what RAM is given to it (ie temp info not directly affecting the player), but this makes free space an issue. are there any optimization-mods that fix/modify the system?
Reproduction Steps
- I installed the betterMC modpack, as well as some of my own. The server runs on my old pc with 14 gb of dedicated ram, to save space that would otherwise have been used by background processes in windows i have it boot up using ubuntu.
- during world creation, the server was already quickly approaching 10 gb.
- I imported the config files because bettermc is very well-optimized, assuming they would be server-ready
