Problem Description

Issue

I used the guide How to install mods in Minecraft using Game Panel | Hostinger Help Center and uploaded the server pack from https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/roguelike-adventures-and-dungeons-2/files/4488151

I have checked my local load and it is using Forge 36.2.39 and running game version 1.16.5

I have made sure the version under Configuration > Minecraft > Server and Setup / [ Server Type = Forge ] / [ Forge Version = 36.2.39 (mc 1.16.5) ] / [ Server Jar = forge-1.16.5-36.2.39.jar ]

I hit download/upgrade and it seems everything should be working correctly however when I attempt to connect I get the error “Connection Closed - mismatched mod channel list”

Looking at the logs it doesn’t seem the mod pack is really installing, but I am not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.
whenever I attempt

Reproduction Steps

  • Added the module as a ZIP and extracted and it does not seem to install when starting the server
  • Updated Configuration Settings
  • Start and review logs.

You uploaded the jar files to the mods folder, and not a zip?

I uploaded the ZIP from the server pack download. I am not sure if I am supposed to upload all of the independent mods?

If the zip is in the main server folder, you can unzip it using the web file manager (right click).
If that doesn’t unpack correctly, then you’d upload the mods and configs using AMP’s built-in SFTP, using WinSCP or FileZilla

Thank you for all of your help and awesome guides on this platform. The files are uploaded via SFTP using FileZilla and they are unpacked. I uploaded them into the folder the guide told me to create “mods”.

I did just notice this in the logs when I tried to start the server:

Mod file Mod File: /AMP/Minecraft/mods/minecraft_server.1.16.5.jar is missing mods.toml file
File /AMP/Minecraft/mods/minecraft_server.1.16.5.jar has been ignored - it is invalid

I will look when I get home for the night but there is something missing or wrong with how I have the server pack loaded.

minecraft_server.1.16.5.jar is the vanilla Jar and not a mod, so that’s fine to ignore and won’t cause any harm if left in there

Okay I have attached the log file from the console after starting up the server and attempting to connect once. I get the error:
Failed to connect to server: Connection closed - Mismatched mod channel list

You need the mod jars in the mods directory from the server pack zip.
You can find it on CurseForge after selecting a version of the modpack

I downloaded the server pack again and started a whole new instance and removed the old one. This time I opened the server pack and uploaded the mods folder contents ( all the *.jar files ) and started the server. Seems to be working better. The log is full of things happening but lots of red.

When it starts I can see the server showing up in Minecraft now with the amount of guest allowed. So communication is happening. However, when I attempt to join or refresh the list or, it simply times out the instance crashes.

Crash Report :

The crash report doesn’t specifically say what mod didn’t work, but you could try setting the Java runtime version to Java 11 and see how that goes
