Problem Description

Issue

I installed the Direwolf20 Feed the beast pack on my server and i can not connect
I tried to switch to NeoForge and the specific version i need but on my client i get the message that the connection is lost because “Channel of mod…” is missing a couple times, it says something to the extend of “its running on client side but not server side”

Reproduction Steps

  • Start a server
  • Go to conf > Minecraft and choose the feed the beast pack (the normal one not legacy)
  • download direwolf20 pack the newest one
  • try to connect (not working)
  • switch to Neoforge and switch to the exact version my client uses 21.1.83
  • still cant connect

Do you have all the mod jars in the mods folder? If they’re in some other folder or inside a zip, the modloader cannot read them.

Hello!

Thanks alot for your quick response.

I figured it out myself.

For anyone having similar problems:

Create a new instance of minecraft Java
Choose a modpack to play (in my case direwolf20)
Take a look at the version number of the mob thats hostable (This was my problem)
Make sure you install the same version number on your FTB Launcher / Curse Forge Client
Start your modded game localy and look into “Mods” for “Neoforge”
Note down the neoforge version number
Once the server has finished the install of the from you chosen mod pack, open the drop down menu of the server-type options again (where you already chose your mod pack) and now choose “NEOFORGE”
Now make sure you select the right version that you noted down before hand
Update

Now the server has the modpack + the neoforge modloader ready to go, it should automatically choose the right .java minecraft server file so no need to change that

My mistake was that the modpacks newest version up to download is 1.8.x but the one hosted on hostinger only was 1.4.1, so once i downgraded my clients version everything worked like a charm

Yeah, FTB’s download API isn’t serving the most up to date versions for some reason (even if you invalidate the version cache in AMP)
