Customization with Minecraft - Cannot get FillZilla to Connect to SFTP

Problem Description

Issue

Status: Resolving address of srv620022.hstgr.cloud
Status: Connecting to [2a02:4780:2d:5567::1]:2224…
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry…
This is the message everytime i try to login to FileZilla following the Article provided by Hostinger to add modpacks to my minecraft server (following “How to install a Modpack for Minecraft”)
Host: srv620022.hstgr.cloud
Port: 2224

Reproduction Steps

  • Refer to Hostingers artical on addming modpacks to server
  • download FileZilla to connect to SFTP for server
  • Check to see if SFTP is running using Win+R “cmd”
  • Ask ChatGPT for help on situation

This isn’t Hostinger support, just the forum for AMP, but we can get you pointed in the right direction.

You’ll need to make sure that you’re using SFTP and not FTP, as those are two different protocols.
If that checks out, try using the VPS IP instead of the domain they gave you. (you can find the IP in the VPS info they sent you when you got it)

Thanks so much for the help Ill try that now. Hostinger “support” sent me here. So much for a hosting platform lol

All their VPS plans are “unmanaged” , meaning “you’re on your own to manage this thing that you’ve never seen before”, which includes the AMP preinstall since they consider it a VPS. (even though most hosting platforms out there prefer to streamline the entire process with a proper Enterprise setup with auto-instance creation and all those neat bells and whistles)
