Problem Description

Issue

“Simple Voice Chat” is a very popular proximity mod made by henkelmax, however it requires a special set up server side. On the wiki there’s a list of tutorials on how to set it up server side for different hosting sites, and much to my disappointment Hostinger wasn’t there. I looked at the tutorials for other sites to see if I could figure it out, but it was much too complicated for me. Not only do I want this, but I think if you make a SVC tutorial for others to use it would be beneficial for everyone.

Reproduction Steps

  • Went to SVC wiki for help, hostinger wasnt there
  • looked it up online, only tutorials for other sites showed up
  • looked it up and specifically said hostinger, still no answers

You need to add the port by editing the instance in the main panel, and then change the port in the SVC config file. Note, SVC uses UDP so make sure you add the Port as either UDP or Both, not TCP.

The SVC wiki just explains how to do things, it doesn’t have a full guide for every hosting platform out there. As long as you use the same port, you wouldn’t need to change the config at all also, just add the port to the AMP instance as asdf mentioned.

I’ll be real, I have no idea how to do that. Am I adding a custom port? Am I changing one of the port numbers?

SVC uses UDP so make sure you add the Port

You add the port. (What port you may ask?)
The port that SVC uses by default (refer to their docs if you don’t know what port that is)
