Core Keeper |
Problem Description:
I’ve tried to setup and install a dedicated CoreKeeper Server.
I’ve done many Minecraft, Valheim or Terraria Servers, but this CoreKeeper one is the thoughest problem I faced up to now.
My problem being that I’m not able to connect to the Server, even after freshly setting up the instance (the Server is right next to me connected with the same router as my main PC), I am also not able to locate or setup any “world” files, it just doesn’t seem as easy as a Minecraft Server for example and that’s stressing me out.
I would really need some help setting this server up. Thanks in advance
Steps to reproduce:
- Step 1 Install CoreKeeper Server
- Step 2 Open CoreKeeper, enter GameID and wait
- Step 3 “Timed out while connecting to the server” and quit the game
Actions taken to resolve so far:
Scream at PC,
looked through CubeCoders Discord for answers,
looked through the web for answers,
looked through Files via FTP for any configuratable files
What connection mode are you using? Its under the config menu
I’m using the direct port connection option
Have you forwarded the ports?
Yes, worked fine with all my other server up until now, just hosted a Project Zomboid Server today that worked.
Try using Steam relay network mode
Tried that in the meantime, didn’t work, the server is up, but the ping is too high to connect, always timing out.
Can someone outside your network connect to the server when using the direct connect mode?
Nope, they cannot (my friend just tried) I don’t think its because of my Network connection (since it works with any other gameserver)
I’ve tried both connection methods again, and it keeps telling me that the UDP game port is not listening, even tho I opened them on the machine and router (Since it works for any other game
)
I am running into the same issue, and I also went through all the same steps. I can connect using the steam relay option but that gives serious rubber banding issues.
I couldn’t even connect that way, but thanks for answering! If you find anything new lmk
hey, where can i configure steam relay network mode? i cant find it
i’ve got the same problem
i tried using docker container like its recommended and without, both didn’t work for me.
edit:
finally it works. i tried many things, i guess to activate “exclude from firewall” and open udp ports
