Im expanding my server rack once again, and I have the intent to run AMP on 2 of my servers at once. I could just run them as individual instances but I want to try the controller and target set up for simplicity. i just wanted to know how powerful the controller needs to be
You can run a controller on a minimal Debian install with 512mb of ram and 2vCPUs (plain ol’ Controllers cannot host instances).
There is the Hybrid install option that can act as both a Controller and a Standalone install, but if that system goes down or is overloaded due to a game server, you won’t be able to log into the other AMP install due to the auth server (the Controller’s web interface) being down.
It’s suggested to use a regular Controller whenever possible, but if that’s not in the cards atm you can reconfigure things later down the line.
