Problem Description

Issue

After opening Sons on Windows 11 PC, clicked on Multiplayer, Join, Direct and entered the Endpoint info.

Reproduction Steps

  • Verified the instance is running. It is.
  • Verified the ports are available through the firewall
  • Tested connectivity from Windows 11 on local network. Ping works as well as test-netconnection with port 2224.
  • Used PortQueryUI to test UDP ports and the test was inconclusive.
  • Ran updates and rebooted server.

Are client and server on the same machine?

Did you try direct connect with the local IP and game port?

No server is an Ubuntu Desktop server and client is a Windows box on the same network. Yes, I tried the direct connect.

I haven’t messed around with SOTF myself, but this may be one of those servers that need to be port forwarded even for local clients. Also likely need NAT hairpin/loopback enabled
