Problem Description

Issue

When attempting to create servers for the forest or sons of the forest I am unable to connect to the server. Steam says “Unable to connect to the server, app id specified by server is invalid”. I am able to connect to other games (project zomboid and seven days to die are the ones I tested).

Reproduction Steps

  • create server instance
  • Let server fail to install
  • restart server (successfully installs every time)

The steam connect function is notoriously unreliable - that’s a steam issue

Connect by whatever other methods are available - server browser, steam browser, steam favorites, direct connect

I was able to add it to the steam server browser. It is recognized as a sotf server, it recognizes the name of the server, and it actually pings it. However when I click connect it fails to join and gives a server not responding error.
