Problem Description

Issue

So, I purchased a separate PC I have designated to use as a Home server. Aside from my home server, I have 2 gaming PC’s. “(All PC’s are on the same network)” I decided to use AMP for the ease of hosting dedicated game servers. First time using it. I have having trouble figuring out how to connect my gaming PC to the server my “home server is hosting” I have opened all of the correct ports (I think) and I noticed that AMP automatically Adds new rules to firewall. The server shows up in the server list in game but the connection times out when I try to connect from a different PC. Also, my friend cant connect wither. He is outside my local network. Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong. Thank you.

Reproduction Steps

  • Installed Server in AMP console
  • Opened all the correct ports (I think)
  • Booted game. Server shows up in list but connection times out when i try to join. Fails for friends outside my network as well

Have you forwarded the ports on your router?

Yes, I have opened the Server Port and SFTP Ports on my router that the game calls for. Its weird because when i check if the ports are open with telnet on cmd prompt it wont connect to them…

Not weird - telnet is TCP, the server port is UDP. Also no need to forward the SFTP port if you don’t need it

Well, regardless, i cant get it to work. Any idea what i am doing wrong?
