Problem Description

Issue

I have the problem, that the Server did not wake up from sleeping if I want to connect to it from the Internet („start when player tries to join“-option). If I try to connect via the internet IP (and port) of my router, the server doesnt wake up. It only responds with „disconnected“ but nothing happens. The strange behaviour now is, that the waking works, if I try to connect via the LAN IP. Only from the internet it doesnt work. I have opened the port for the server (only TCP, not MC standard port) and for the AMP web GUI (TCP, standard) in my router. I tried to open the server port also for UDP (sampe port as TCP), but this had no effect on the behaviour.

Reproduction Steps

  • configured waking via player join
  • waked the server using LAN IP
  • tried to connect via internt IP of my router
  • opened port in my router for the server and AMP web GUI

In some cases I’ve seen sleep mode be a bit funky behind a router.
What wake up setting do you currently have it set to? Iirc there’s both ping and connect as different options. Could try switching up that setting to see if that gets it kicking

I have curently set the mode “Wake from sleep” to “When a user joins”
The “Doze delay” is set to 2 mins / “Sleep mode delay” i currently set to 3 mins for testing.

I will try your recomendation and change the “Wake from sleep” to “When the server is pinged”.
Ill give a quick reply when I have checked it.
