i have downloaded and configued the required server instances, but am having trouble with modded minecraft, when trying to spin up a FTB server for instance, i am getting an error on connection stating NeoForge is required but am unsure on how to install this within the AMP environment instance
Reproduction Steps
Created Instance, modified minecraft settings, selected FTB new source, selected mod pack (ultimate in this case) updated server, scanned jars, booted server, server is running, attempted to connect with correct version using FTB client
Downloaded and added the neoforge.jar file to the mods folder in an attempt to get it installed using java -jar command but nope (my java skills are rubbish)
recreated the instance multiple times, tried different versions of FTB mod pack but same error received
yea so ive tried this but im wondering if im just messing up the order of operations
ive seen a few of your other replies on other posts and still no joy
so lets see if i can clear this up
create new instance, select MC Java
edit minecraft settings and select NeoForge, making sure to select correct version from the drop down.
make sure to select “specific version”? my understanding is it will ignore the selected version if you dont select this
upload MC server filtes using SFTP?
scan for available server jars?
select server jar and restart instance?
In my mind this should work? especially for the newer version of the FTB modpacks as has been mentioned in another thread, the latest mod pack versions are not selectable from FTB New Source, depends on the pack but its sometimes around 3-4 months behind current release
NeoForge doesn’t have a server jar, which is why you need to select the NeoForge server type and version, while leaving the Jar set to Autoselect
The FTB download source in AMP is outdated because FTB changed their download API and haven’t documented the new one as far as I’m aware.
