Problem Description
Issue
Minecraft Java Edition does not allow connection to personal server by IP. The host has two instances, java and bedrock, both on their respective ports. Bedrock works perfectly, java gives the error message of cant connect to multiplayer services. I did all the restarting and checking ports, and everything I can find online. nothing works. And again, bedrock works great. no issues.
Reproduction Steps
- Java Edition shows listening on port 25565
- linux OS firewall is off. port can be pinged by PC
- Open App, connect to server, config saves fine
- Hit play on custom server
- app will error "
- Error occurs “your client is having trouble establishing a connection to multiplayer services. Please check your internet connection, restart your client, and try again”
