Problem Description

Issue

Hi I am fully new to personal server setup. I set up an ubuntu server on my old gaming pc earlier today and then started doing the setup with AMP and playit.gg website. I cannot for the life of me get the online connection to work though. I can join locally. My friend and I have both tried to join online but it has not worked so far. Please help

Reproduction Steps

  • Start server
  • Connect to playitgg
  • port is said to be running fine
  • login to minecraft to verify local join works, it does
  • Try online join myself and with a friend, does not work and get getsockopt error

AMP’s sleep mode doesn’t work well with Playit.gg due to how they have things set up. You could try changing the wake mode to “wake on ping”, otherwise if you’re using a recent version of MC you can use the built-in server pause feature instead of AMP’s sleep mode.
