Problem Description

Issue

I created a server with Forge to use mods, but when I enter it does not allow me, showing the message cannot connect to the server. I tried to remove the mods one by one to see which one was causing the incompatibility, but the result was the same. Leaving it without any mod, it allows me to enter with Vanilla Minecraft, but not with the Forge version (without any other mod)

Reproduction Steps

  • Create a server with forge
  • Don’t add mods to test if the server even works
  • Trying to connect and getting getsockopt error, also the server appears as cannot connect to the server in the server list

Check to see if the MC port has been added to your AMP server’s firewall correctly, and that the server is fully running before you try and connect.

Try changing your IP Address to 192.xxx.xxx.xxx instead of the 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0. This what I had to do to get my forge working with your same login issues.

I’ve only experienced that when using 0.0.0.0 instead of localhost/priviate IP when connecting to a Forge server hosted on the same machine.
This user’s server is running in Docker on Debain.
