Problem Description

Issue

After I was told by minecraft to get forge on my client I did so and after that minecraft wasn’t able to find the server anymore

Reproduction Steps

  • Startet unmodded Server (was already a forge version) and joined with vanilla client
  • uploaded “create” mod to the server and restarted
  • tried to join server with vanilla client (can’t join obviously)
  • restarted Minecraft with a forge client and it couldn’t find the server

Make sure you have the right modloader and version selected on the server, otherwise the mods will not load. Double check that you have the same mods loaded onto the client as well.

The problem is not the joiningprocess its that the game launched with forge can’t find the server at all in the multiplayer menu. When I got a mod on the server and started minecraft vanilla, he was able to find it but (obviously) I was not able to join

Did you install the mod on the client as well? Mods that add content need to be on both the client and server.

If i would have a missmatching modlist, the server would tell me, but it doesn’t even show up on the list. But no, I had neither mods on the client nor on the server

Did you not add the server to your list again, or is it unable to connect? iirc each individual minecraft instance will have its own server list.

always added it. it always showed a blank server with “Can’t conect to server” in the server list

And you’re sure the server did start after you added the create mod?

Server was 100% online. I am sure
