Problem Description

Issue

When changing my server type from Official (vanilla) to the correct Forge version that my modpack needs, I find that my client (correct Forge version) can no longer see the server (also same Forge version). Nothing else has changed. No mods have been installed. I’m only testing connection based on the Forge version I need.

Reproduction Steps

    1. Create server with default official minecraft
  • Connect to server with latest java version of minecraft. It works
  • Change server version to Forge 47.4.10 (mc 1.20.1). Restart server
  • Try reconnecting from vanilla client to same server: Version mismatch (expected)
  • Launch correct version client (Forge 47.4.1, MC 1.20.1)
  • Connect to same sever. Cannot connect “getsockopt”
  • Change back to vanilla and it works fine
