Connectivity Problem with ARK: Survival Evolved - problems connecting to the ark server

Problem Description

Issue

i have problems with joining the server
when i try joining through steam server it says “network failure message, unable to query server info for invite”

i have tried adding it to my favorites in the server popup and joining through the serverbrowser ingame but that didnt help either

also searching the name of the server doesnt show it in the server browser

Reproduction Steps

• start server
• adds server to favorite in steam server menu
• atempt to join
• it opens ark but it doesnt join

Did you forward the 3 server ports?

the ports i have forwarded are “2226tcp, 27020tcp, 7777upd, 27015upd, 7778upd”
i also cannot connect through lan
the firewall has already excluded all these ports so that is also not the problem

idk what else could be the problem.

In steam favourites, you need to add the server via the query port

This is covered in the guide in this forum for ASE

BTW, don’t forward the SFTP port or RCON port, unless you really need access to them externally

when i do that it says “failure unable to connect to server, app id specified by server is invalid”
and not much more changes

Then you very likely have networking issues

Are you trying to add the server via public IP, or local IP

i have tried both, inside and outside the lan with and without the public ip
