Problem Description

Issue

At seemingly random times all player have get a lag spike, it doesn’t matter where they are connecting from it seems suddenly jolt, and it has been causing some players to die in game because of it.

Reproduction Steps

  • Playing on the server at anytime. UK and US players affected.
  • Connect to game server
  • Play for any amount of time

Care to mention the game you’re running?

Apologies! I thought the in app support button would include this information. We are running Minecraft using the All The Mods 10 modpack, while generally it works fine, periodically we would all suffer random lag spikes, I cannot find any issues crop up in the server log, nor any sign of issue during the lag spikes by looking at the server resources. It seems purely network.

Some further information, this doesn’t appear to be related to any act in the game, it can happen when we are not traveling, changing dimension or doing anything which I would consider heavy. We usually have around 6 players, but its happened to us with as little as 2

Yeah that’s fairly standard with modded MC.
One sanity check would be to make sure that you don’t have the server-side render distance too high (the default being 10), and you can also use the Spark mod to see if it’s some occasional CPU issue.
