Problem Description

Issue

I wanted to install Spigot on my Minecraft server, so I can install further plugins. However, everytime I try to install Spigot in the config tab it gives me the error:
“Download / Update failed : The tools path ‘./Minecraft/spigotbuild’ contains an invalid character.” How can I fix this?

Reproduction Steps

  • The server works when running on the official version
  • I changed the Server Version to Spigot
  • When Updating the server it throws the error “Download / Update failed : The tools path ‘./Minecraft/spigotbuild’ contains an invalid character.”
  • Paper and CraftBukkit work

Should be fixed in the coming update, but Paper is a better option anyway (runs faster)

Yes, Paper might be the better option, though currently there is no Server for Paper 1.21, but there is a Spigot version.

Run buildtools on your machine and upload the Jar to AMP

Explain this in a little more detail please

Same issue and it is now realease v2.0.5.14, is the fix for this coming?

Download buildtools from the Spigot site, then run it to create a Jar.
The dev stream has the issue fixed as of now.
Paper currently only has unstable releases for 1.21, so Spigot is the safe bet atm.
