Problem Description

Issue

The server was working fine earlier, but after some players playing on it for a few hours it is now running incredibly slowly, tps is at 0 and every player has 10000+ ping. Even starting the server is incredibly slowly now, but I don’t see any errors or have any idea what could be causing this. I have a few plugins on the server but it was running fine with them all earlier so I’m not sure if they’re the cause. CPU usage was incredibly high so I upgraded the server plan thing but after doing that it’s actually just gotten worse. I can’t even restart the server to test out different fixes because it takes an hour to restart it.

Reproduction Steps

  • Bought the server
  • Added some plugins
  • About 10 people played on the server for a couple hours
  • Server got laggier and laggier
  • Server is now unplayable with how slow it is
  • Trying to restart the server takes an hour and I’m not sure why
  • I bought the upgrade for the server plan but now it’s even worse
  • This game panel website sucks and sometimes just won’t let me open the instance for the server

You’ll want to make sure that the server-side render distance is reasonable (the default is 10), then you can run the spark plugin/mod on the server to see what’s using up the server’s resources.
