Problem Description

Issue

I want to change the server.properties file of my Minecraft instance, but can’t seem to do it. Whenever I change it and save it and then stop the instance and then restart it again, the changes are gone. Why is this, and how can I fix it so that the server.properties file doesn’t reset to default whenever the instance is booted up.

Reproduction Steps

  • Go to file explorer
  • Navigate to the Minecraft/server.properties
  • Edit server.properties to specified settings such as hard difficulty with pvp=true
  • Restart the instance
  • Settings are back at default

XY problem. You’re not supposed to change it directly. You edit the settings within it via AMPs interface. Type “PVP” into AMPs search box in the top right and it’ll take you directly to the setting.
