Problem Description
Issue
I need to use the Bedrock edition so I can support friends on Xbox as well as PC. But I’m not sure which version I’m supposed to select? In the Server Type select, neither the ‘Official’ or ‘Bedrock’ versions seem to be correct as they pull down versions 1.20.4 and 1.17.10 respectively, whereas the current version is now at 1.20.51.
If I select the Pocket Edition one marked experimental then it pulls down version 1.20.50, but I don’t believe this is the official branch and I’m concerned that this will deviate and/or not be updated to match the version of the game we are playing from gamepass down the line. This seems to be the nukket version? I don’t know what that means.
So any advice here would be great - I’m a noob with Minecraft so perhaps I’ve missed something.
Cheers,Matt
Reproduction Steps
- Installed minecraft instance
- Changed a couple basic settings such as name
- Selected various different server types and tried running the server
- Opened the game and tested trying to join after each setting change. (After updating and restarting the server).
- Monitored the console to take note of the server version when it starts.
- Compared version to game client version and attempted to connect
- Connect successfully only when the server type is Pocket Edition (Experimental) near the bottom of the list.
