Problem Description

Issue

My friends and I are loyal users of the “Simple Voice Chat”-Plugin/Mod. Sadly on this server I can’t get it to work. Usually every plugin has it’s own folder, but SimpleVoiceChat can’t create one for itself. I tested the mod which I needed to install on my PC and I was able to hear myself when I ran a test on voice settings, but I cannot connect to the server itself and therefore noone can talk to other players. I don’t know what I am missing and sadly neither I nor my friends find any help on google. We would still love to use the voice chat but for the Setup I need help badly.

Reproduction Steps

  • download simple voice chat plugin for server
  • add new port in settings
  • add plugin from website
  • check file in File Manager
  • Check function on the Minecraft server

You need to create a firewall rule as well. Current bug in amp for custom ports

Thank you for the info. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Sadly I can’t find the option to set a rule up though. Can you also tell me, where I can do that?
Been looking for it and didn’t find it.

You will have to do it yourself on your Linux host, using whatever firewall package your system uses (ufw, iptables, nftables)

does it also work on windows?

what should I include in the Firewall rule? Google is included and I tried to find access to minecraft for I while and can’t. Sorry for asking so much, but I never did this before and on the Aternos Server, whic I hosted before it was working perfectly fine.

Why are you asking about windows when you are running the server on Linux?

You’d add an inbound firewall rule for the port (and protocol) that you added to AMP for SVC

Are there firewall settings in amp, I’ve tried my router, I’ve tried the server itself and I’ve got the port set for the instance. Am I potentially missing a step? (I did set the port in the config too)
