Problem Description

Issue

I upgraded from 4GB CPU to 8GB CPU for my minecraft server to handle more load, but the server will slow down and crash and NEVER cross 50% CPU Utilization. It went to 100% when I was on the 4GB plan. I don’t think I am getting what I am paying for, and was wondering if there was a constraint behind the server limiting it.

Reproduction Steps

  • Startup application.
  • Apply load.
  • Slows down and crashes and never crosses 50%.

This is fairly normal, Minecraft does not take advantage of multiple CPU cores. It’s not being limited, it simply can’t use any more. You may have at some point changed the setting that controls how AMP calculates CPU usage between single v.s. multi-core.
