Problem Description

Issue

I am trying to connect a domain through squarespace. I have followed the tutorials but it does not seem to work. I can join without using my custom domain, but not with my custom domain. The issue began when I altered the ports of 2 instances in the Hostinger Game Panel using the Edit Settings>Network and Ports> and changed the Game Port. Prior to doing this my servers worked with my custom domain. The reason I tried to change the port was I wanted people that were joining my server not to have to type the port after the domain. For example, I wanted to use port 25565 for the current server so that in game players had to only type minecraftserver.com rather than a port of 25566 because players had to type minecraftserver.com:25566. I am sure that I can achieve this a lot easier but I am not very knowledgeable about this stuff. Thank you.

Reproduction Steps

  • Add both type A records to squarespace domain.
  • Add the srv type to squarespace domain.
  • Attempt to run server.

This isn’t Hostinger support, but this is the post I usually refer to for SRV-related stuff

Could It be that I have not allowed enough time for the dns to propagate? How long does that process typically take?

Minutes for some DNS providers, hours for others. I’ve never used SquareSpace, so I can’t speak for their setup
