Problem Description

Issue

I’m trying to import my save from my dedicated server but it’s not the current save version. I’d like to switch over to my selfhosted server fully.

Reproduction Steps

  • Download both the save file and .backup file
  • Uploaded it to my server
  • The server works but the save seems to be two days behind
  • Rebuild the Enshourded server
  • Uploaded the saves
  • No differences it’s in the same spot

Hey there - having just tried this myself (from Nitrado > Windows AMP) here were a few of my gotchas:

  • Make sure your other server is powered down. If you look at logs, I believe you’ll see that it attempts to create a save when it receives the command to power down. Also, I experienced startup issues on the new server trying to copy the files while the old server was still online.
(hopefully you’re not experiencing the bug where the server fails to save and you lose two days worth of progress )

  • I had three files - copied all three and the save was perfect (serverfile, serverfile.backup, serverfile.journal)

  • Not sure if this one is applicable to you, using Docker, but I was having all sorts of problems with the files until I used winscp to ftp directly to the AMP instance.

Thanks for the response! Where are the 3 files you mentioned located at?

YW! All three existed in the ‘savegame’ folder. Which, on Nitrado, was really the only folder I could access besides the Enshrouded folder that had the .json server config.

Found them! I did get the server to work once with the saves but now it just won’t reload them. Is there anything I might need turn on or off to force it to load the save?

I don’t believe so … if those are the only files in the savegame folder, I would expect them to load those every time…

I got it to work  I didn’t realize my other server was named the same thing. Oops! Everything is working perfectly now!
