Problem Description

Issue

  1. We have been looking for ages via SFTP for the .rpt files in which we can read what is happening on the server or instance. But I only ever find .txt files with the excerpts from the console. The question here is where are the .rpt files, or how can I ensure that some are written?
  2. The instance shuts down every night and is actually supposed to carry out the mod updates that are available. However, that doesn’t work either.
The instance has the task of doing the following:
  • Stop the application
  • Check for available updates via Steam CMD
  • Wait for 600 seconds
  • Update the application
  • Wait for 600 seconds
  • Start the application
  • Post a message on Discord
The question here is, is this a general error or is something set incorrectly? Thank you for the help.

Reproduction Steps

  • Open FileZila
  • Connected to Server via SFTP
  • Search for .rpt
  • Find nothing
  1. From the Bohemia wiki: “Linux server outputs the “RPT log” messages on stdout/stderr.” That is, the Linux executable doesn’t create .rpt files, what you see in the console is the output (which will be in AMP’s logs).
  2. The “check for available updates” option only looks for server updates, not mod updates. If you want mods to be updated, you will have to update the server every night, regardless of whether updates are actually available.
  1. Thank you for the information, I’ll see if I can find the files.
  2. If I want to automatically update the mods on the server every night and the “Update the application” command doesn’t allow this, how else is this possible?
  1. Right click on the instance tile, view logs
  2. I only said “check for updates” doesn’t look for mod updates. “Update the application” updates both the server and any mods that are installed via the Steam workshop items in AMP
  1. thx
  2. “Update the application” - we have it in the interval (see above), but the whole thing doesn’t really work.
