Problem Description

Issue

i’ve changed the server.property files to hardcore=true and it keeps changing back to false. the file is 100% being saved, and i’ve tried multiple times.

What am i doing wrong :((((

i’ve seen a gameplay tab to change to hardcore easily through the site but i haven’t been able to find it on my own game panel page…

Reproduction Steps

  • file manager
  • server.properties edit and change hardcore=false to hardcore=true
  • save and close
  • start server / refresh / update all. ive tried multiple different ways

You need to change it using the web interface, as that overrides the server.properies file. (search bar in the upper right)
You also need to delete the world folder after changing it, since that info is “baked” into the world files.

sorry i’m not quite following, so in file manager → server.properties is not the file i have to change? what do i search in the top right bar

and i have to delete the world folder? as in this folder here? https://i.imgur.com/BlOidde.png

You don’t change the setting in the file manager, you change it in the web UI’s settings inside the Configuration tab. (which is where the search bar would lead you if you were to search for the setting you’re looking for)

The world folder is the folder named world

i’m a special snowflake, so i don’t get how i’m supposed to change it using the web interface. after i go configuration idk what to do lol

You look for the setting, which is probably under Gameplay or something similar.
With the search bar, again, you can use it to search for the setting you’re looking for. (the setting you already know the name of)

i just don’t have that. i don’t see a gameplay tab anywhere or find it in the search bar

Search “hardcore”, the setting you’re looking for

i get the name of the server, which i made as “hardcore” nothing else

You need to manage the minecraft server instance first, game-specific settings aren’t in the main panel.

jesus christ it finally popped up ty so much. im braindead. appreciate it
