Cant Access Account

OS Name/Version: Windows 10

Product Name/Version: (Always use the full version number - not ‘Latest’) AMP Instance Manager v2.5.0.12

Problem Description: First time using the app and I’ve just installed it. Followed the YouTube tutorial but the setup is different. I immediately get prompted for my username and password. If I choose forgot password and follow the instructions to reset the password via command line, I go through the steps, enter my instance, username, password then it stops the instance, then i get this error:

[Error/1] This instance can only be started by ADS (AMP's main web interface) - it cannot be started via the command line.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open CMD
  • Follow password reset commands

Do you mean that you forgot the password you set during installation? Or is there some other reason you’re resetting your login details? Setting your AMP login details is one of the first steps during setup so it’s not possible to have AMP running without specifying your own login details.

Hi Mike, I’m also a first time user new to the platform. I’m stuck in a similar place as OP. I’m being prompted for a username and password, I just set my password for the first time so that’s no issue but I do not recall setting a username. I can’t for the life of me figure out what it should be. Perhaps I skipped over that part without reading properly? Any direction you can provide would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

The default username it pre fills for you is ‘admin’
