Task

Trying to enter the Nether times out the server.

Problem Description

Issue

Every time I try to enter the Nether through my portal, it times out the game with no error messages. I have no clue how to fix this and have already tried deleting the Nether world file.

Reproduction Steps

  • Build a basic Nether portal
  • Enter the lit Nether portal
  • The server times out

Sometimes this can be caused by the modded server sending too much chunk data over the network all at once (due to teleporting and such).
You could try lowering the server-side render distance and see if that improves things at all.
