Problem Description

Issue

I am very new to this field - JavaScript, server hosting, coding - and am attempting to host a modded Minecraft server for my friends and I. In following given tutorials, I have been able to, in some cases, replicate some successes but the uploading of the modpack, connecting to the server, and attempting to access files via FileZilla have all resulted in errors and various connection issues and crashes. I wish I could phrase these complications in more technical terms but I simply lack the knowledge or understanding.

Reproduction Steps

  • Follow the Tutorial in Creating a Minecraft: Java Edition Fabric Instance
  • Attempt to use FileZilla to access files to upload modpack, failed to connect
  • Move to utilizing Fabric API alone, CAN connect to server
  • Attempt various ways of uploading the modpack ZIP folder into the mods folder, cannot connect

The modpack zip doesn’t go in the mods folder. Modloaders can only read Jar files.
You need to get the server pack zip and upload the files. (ask the modpack developers for instillation instructions if you run into issues)
