trying to make a profile for my friend to join the panel

Problem Description

Issue

hi, im trying to make it so my friend can access the control panel which i was told i could do if i make him a profile with and ask him to login with the username and password on the discord server. i have given him the correct information, even changing the password and making new profiles multiple times but it doesn’t seem to work, do you know how i can fix this?

Reproduction Steps

  • Create a username and password for my friend
  • give him the user name and password
  • he tries to login with the correct information
  • it says username or password incorrect

OK. You dont have it written down in your post so I will ask.
Have you tried to log in yourself with the new account(s) you made?

sorry, yes i am able to log into it but he can’t

No worries.

OK, great. So I assume your portal is accessible from the outside, since your friend can access it and is trying to log in, right?
From a security standpoint, this is risky… but that’s another discussion.

Can you try logging in yourself from a different network, such as 5G or another home network?
Let us know if that works fine (as it should)

i have just tried and it doesn’t look like i can connect to it on a 5G network

Make sure you’ve port forwarded the panel in your router

what’s the port for the panel?

It’s port 8080 TCP by default.
If you have a domain, you can set up HTTPS to secure the panel, since plain HTTP is unencrypted.
(you can set this up at any point after installing AMP)

i thought it was 8080 so thats already port forwarded and it still doesn’t work, i don’t have a domain at the moment.

Have you successfully port forwarded anything else before? (like a game server)

yeah, i currently have ARK and Minecraft successfully port forwarded

By “doesn’t work” do you mean it won’t load, or it just won’t let them log in?

it doesn’t load, just in case im being stupid what is he supposed to search for once i have port forwarded the panel?

You give him your public IP plus port 8080, eg
http://your.public.ip:8080

so yeah i was being stupid lol, i forgot to put :8080 at the end of the ip

Thank you lol
