my full kingdom i’ve build is deleted back to two weeks ago of progress even though i got my armor and gear from today backup. tried to go back to the half an hour ago backup but the half of the server progress is still missing. tried every backup from today with no succes. its like part of the server is permanently deleted even though i made backups every day… such a dissapointing waste of time. for 20 euros you would think the servers are kept save
Reproduction Steps
server crashed, joined server again and everything gone
went back to 30min ago backup and still part of the server gone back to two weeks ago progress while the other half was saved?? tried other backups same thing
tried updating server and restarting still the same thing. as if parts of the server were permanently deleted
It could be that part of the backup isn’t restoring properly, or it isn’t overriding files correctly (also check the date on the backup, you could be attempting to restore an older one).
Alternatively, the system the server is hosted on could be out of space, causing weird behavior.
Another thing to check would be to enable debug logging in the MC instances settings (search bar in the upper right), try restoring the backup, and then right click the instance from the main panel and hit View Logs
After sanity checking disk space, you could try creating a new Minecraft instance, then copy over the backup using the file manager or SFTP.
From there, stop/start the instance, then restore the backup on the new server, and see if everything seems to check out.
i went to view logs and didn’t see any error that said it it couldn’t load anything fully. server memory and normal space isn’t full. its like 1 backup old backup has overridden part of the worlds, so even if i go to new backups it still misses important stuff. i also completely copied the server over to a new instance and had the same thing with all backups. everything was working fine, but after that maintenance day and a crash it went partially back.
No clue what maintenance day you’re referring to, this is just the AMP forum, we have no direct relation to Hostinger.
I’ve never experienced that sort of issue using AMP’s backup system, so I’m not too sure on what direction you can go with that.
You could try some of the older backups to see if those work fine in a new instance, in case it’s just the newer backups being weird.
