AMP Avorion Server Settings Reset Constantly

Product Name/Version: Avorion 2.4.3 (Public)

Problem Description: Any changes to Avorion server.ini settings are consistently reverted within minutes of the change being made, or on a server restart.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1 - Make changes to server.ini using AMP UI.
  • Step 2 - Save changes in AMP UI.
  • Step 3 - Close and immediately re-open file in AMP UI to confirm changes were saved.
  • Step 4 - Wait between 1-5 minutes.
  • Step 5 - Reload or reopen file, contents reset to defaults.

Actions taken to resolve so far:
Searched forums for relevant or similar issues, found this article with likely the same problem but no response: “AMP keeps reverting changes to Server.ini in avorion server”.

Notes:
This issue could potentially be resolved by adding the appropriate configuration fields to the AMP server settings for the Avorion server.

Don’t edit the file while the server is running

Thanks, this is my first time running the server on AMP, and (I believe) I’ve always previously been able to edit the ini while running for a quick reboot. It’s been a couple years since I’ve run Avorion specifically though, so memory could be failing me.

Not sure whether it’s different to my previous setups or not, but that definitely works, thank you!

Most servers don’t support setting changes while the server is running. When stopped the server writes out the last state that it loaded.
