AMP 2.8 + Dune Awakening 1.4.5 - Server no longer appears in browser / Battlegroup capacity = 0

Hi,

I’m not sure if this belongs here or somewhere else. If there is a better place for Dune-specific issues, please let me know and I’ll happily repost it there.

Setup

  • AMP 2.8.0.0

  • Dune Awakening Dedicated Server 1.4.5

  • Linux (AMP Docker/Podman)

  • Static public IP

  • Region: Europe

  • Self-Host Service Token configured

  • Host-Mode Networking enabled

The server worked perfectly before today’s AMP + Dune update.

Current issue

The server starts successfully and all services report as healthy:

  • PostgreSQL

  • RabbitMQ

  • Text Router

  • Mock-K8s

  • Director

  • Gateway

  • UE5 instances

The console ends with:

Dune Awakening server ready: success
World name: sh-xxxxxxxx
External IP: xx.xx.xx.xx
Region: Europe

The server is not visible in the Dune server browser and it is not possible to join via Self-Host IP.

What we noticed

The Battlegroup successfully communicates with FLS:

DeclarePopulationAndActivity -> OK
DeclareMaxPlayerCapacities -> OK

However, the payload reports:

BattlegroupCurrentActive = 0
BattlegroupMaxPlayerCapacity = 0

even though:

  • AMP dashboard shows 0 / 60 Active Users

  • director.ini contains:

[Survival_1]
PlayerHardCap=60
ShouldUpdatePlayerCountOnFls=true

So locally the server clearly knows the player cap is 60, but FLS seems to receive a battlegroup capacity of 0.

Additional question

After updating to AMP 2.8 a new Passthrough Port (7777) appeared in the AMP UI.

  • Previously this did not exist.

  • We already use port 7777 for a Conan Exiles server on the same machine.

  • The Dune server worked perfectly without any passthrough port before the update.

Is this new Passthrough Port actually required for Dune now?

If yes:

  • What is it used for?

  • Can it safely be changed to another port?

  • Does it need to be forwarded publicly?

Things already verified

  • Static public IP configured manually

  • Region = Europe

  • Self-Host Token valid

  • Host-Mode Networking enabled

  • Max Concurrent Instances = 10

  • Always-Warm Maps configured

  • Firewall ports open

  • RabbitMQ ports updated after the AMP update

  • Director/FLS requests return HTTP 200 / successful

Has anyone seen this after updating to AMP 2.8 or has any idea why FLS would receive a battlegroup capacity of 0 despite the local player cap being 60?

Thanks!

For me it’s not entirely the same. I see the server/ world in the browser, but when I try to connect to it, the status is displayed as OFFLINE and I can’t join the server.

Edit (how my problem has been fixed):

What it fixed for me was restarting the dune server instance and waiting a little longer.

Early in the startup process my server was marked as offline when trying to connect to the server.

I went to the experiment servers tab and when I clicked on my server - the sketch was still loading even if the starting screen of the game offered me the “continue” button.

When I waited and refreshed in the experimental servers tab long enough finally my Switch showed up.

When I clicked on the sietch to Join the server no was in the status READY.

Not sure if this will help but I had to manually add ports on the main panel in the pencil for the instance.
