7 Days To Die experimental server v2.0

Hi there,

I would like to run a 7D2D exp v2.0 dedicated server.

I’ve tried using the steamcmd.exe to force install the update which downloads and verifies but when I start the server in AMP app it tells me in the console and when joining the game version is v1.4 (public).

Steps of what I did.

  1. Create new instance
  2. Update game server
  3. Started game server
    (this makes steamcmd download public version on first time so must be done first)
  4. Open steamcmd
  5. login anonymous
  6. Run the update command: steam>app_update 294420-beta latest_experimental
    (adding -unstable to the end doesn’t make a difference)
  7. verified the update
  8. Started server using the AMP App

Each time, console says I’m running v1.4. If I try using the command again in Steamcmd is says it is up to date.

I feel like I missing something really simple but I just can’t find it.

Search “experimental” in the search box in your instance xD

Configuration>Updates>Server Updates>Release Stream (choose experimental from drop down)
