Problem Description

Problem Description: Poor Performance (Low TPS) while having low CPU and RAM usage. Will attach spark files and link below, 12-16 chunk loading distance, not utilizing more than 50% allocated CPU and RAM on average. Unsure about garbage collection due to lack of understanding.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1 Created Modded Server with ample resources
  • Step 2 3 Players spawned in, loaded chunks and spawned ~500 mobs
  • Step 3 Low TPS, block breaking lag, player position lag, entity lag

Actions taken to resolve so far: downscaled render distance to 10 chunks, reduced entity broadcast range to 50%, added garbage collection flags. do i need to make a mob cap or add more mods to reduce entity lag? what is the best way to improve tps
