OS Name/Version: Windows 10 22H2
Product Name/Version: AMP 2.7 Deimos (build 08/03/2026)
Problem Description:
Any Factorio server I create won’t allow WAN connections. It works fine when using the LAN IP to connect. The server uses a VPN connection for its WAN IP that runs on my network firewall/gateway.
Steps I’ve taken to resolve issue:
- Made sure windows firewall is off (as my gateway is acting as it’s firewall).
- Made sure firewall rules on the gateway are correct (the same/similar to WEB UI and Minecraft servers).
- Made sure VPN provider isn’t blocking ports.
- Disabled the VPN on my gateway and ran the connection directly on the windows system. All ports were accessible except for the Factorio game ports.
- I’ve tried all the IPv4 Bind addresses in the instance settings (I usually set it to 0.0.0.0).
- I’ve updated AMP to the latest 2.7 (from 2.6.2 I think).
- I’ve tried to repair AMP with the installer.
- I have tried rebuilding the Factorio server 3 times with no success.
- Tried using a know working port for the Factorio server (took a working Minecraft server port), and it still didn’t work.
My current conclusion:
Something somewhere is only allowing local IP address to connect and it rejecting WAN IP address from connecting. Something else to note is that the SFTP port also doesn’t work on the WAN connection, only on LAN.
I haven’t seen anyone have this issue when doing a brief search of the forms.
Any help would be appreciated.
