Problem Description
Issue
This issue still exists. Same problem and restarting ADS does not make the port appear in the instance configuration. This is not about if the port works it is about the configuration not being reflected in the managed instance. These issues generate additional and unnecessary support cases.
We simply want your product to do well so please, fix this.
Reproduction Steps
- Carry out the same steps as showing in issue 25090
- Open the instance configuration and note the ports have not changed
- Restart ADS as per support recommendation for the issue
- Note the port still has not appeared in the instance configuration
Asking because I had trouble with this as well in the past:
Did you click the (+) button before saving your changes on the instance settings where you add the port? See image below.
I tried to recreate your issue. I was able to recreate it if I did not click the plus (+) button. I was not able to recreate the issue if I did click the plus (+) button.
Already found we had not clicked the plus button but the save changes… oh just went back and clicked on save changes. Look at that! Now its fixed!
OMG really need a way to tell the user there are unsaved changes on a panel if they navigate away from it. Easy to say… harder to do I know. This is human stupidity your dealing with. I said it so you don’t have to. Save yourself the hassle and implement something to remind people they have unsaves changes on a panel.
I honestly didnt even notice there were unsaved changes. There is no indicator on the page. Change the Save Changes button to RED? or give some indication there are unsaves edits on the page. Do not let them exit the panel without revert OR save. They can close it of course using X which means revert by default.
Gosh … this change alone will save you and your customers SO many headaches. I am really surprised this has not been brought up before. People should not have have to learn how to use your software. It needs to be intuitive if you want to be successful.
