Connectivity Problem with Stormworks - Cannot load into server

Problem Description

Issue

When connecting to the server through steam server page, it does not connect and results in an error message. Server is running on Linux Ubuntu and connecting through Tailscales.

Error connecting to server: Failed to connect to server

Reproduction Steps

  • Tried changing operating ports both in AMP and server computer
  • Verified firewall is open on all involved computers
  • Checked communication between all ports between each device

I can’t comment on Stormworks specifically, but if you are using Tailscale, you should connect directly through that and not thru Steam’s servers. Their servers won’t be authorized on your tailnet so you won’t get a clean connection.
