Problem Description
Issue
I have just bought AMP and installed it onto our linux(ubuntu) computer. I did everything according to instructions, but i cant seem to connect to the server via steam.
Reproduction Steps
- created the instance
- updated it
- started it
- tried to connect by the steam server link
Hang in there, the software is really good, I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will answer soon. I’m having an issue with Ark ASA, it may be on steam’s side not AMP
Odds are it is your firewall or router blocking the connection. Start with those if the console is not reporting any errors. You need to port forward the necessary ports through the router to the server.
If you are on the same network, check to see if you can connect directly using the local IP.
On the same network i can connect to the server indeed, but do i need to forward all the ports used by AMP? Becaue ive forwarded the nescessary ports (7777, 27015), and it still doesnt work.
The ones listed on the instance page except for the rcon one assuming it is there…i haven’t run an Ark server so not sure exactly what ports are needed.
If you have all of those forwarded properly, odds are your isp had you behind CGNAT and you will need to use a forwarding service like playit.gg.
Looks up on youtube Haven, he has a great tutorial on AMP+Playit.
ARK ASA and SE use multiple ports tho, I had to do some pretty goofy nonsense to get my server up.
