Problem Description

Issue

Always showing internal IP address, with no manual option or DNS lookup to retrieve external actual address.

This affects the branding embedded elements and such.

I’m trying to find a manual override to point to a DNS record but the only options I’ve found are directly connected interfaces which is only relevant to local networks. Internet clients are unable to reach the private address space due to it being RFC1918 address space etc.
I’ve changed the Base URL and attempted other adjustments to similar fields but, none have had an effect on the dynamic link.
This has an impact on branding which is also dynamic and in this case with private addressing which is unusable publicly. I’ve not been able to use any branding features because of this.

Am I just not finding the right place to input the correct detail or is this just not an option?

PS, absolutely love this platform and look forward to every new feature update!

Thanks,
James.

Reproduction Steps

  • Access AMP main screen
  • Select a game server instance
  • Go to copy and share Connection info - Connection link
  • Unable to share with external clients due to only private addressing space subnets are displayed

That’s just a visual thing, nothing is preventing you from using the public IP or a domain to connect.
By default AMP pulls that URL from the URL you’re using to access AMP, you should be able to change it for new instances using the Display URL setting.
With old instances you’ll most likely need to stop them, then use the main panel’s file manager to edit their AMPConfig.conf.
