Amp shutting down servers after logging off on main PC (SOLVED: PLAYIT.GG RELATED)

Problem Description:
I’ve been running a Palworld server on a separate dedicated server mini PC and noticed an issue where if I shut off My main PC(one that I use to interface with AMP on the mini pc but is separate from the mini PC), the Palworld server would close and boot everyone off of it.

I have had this issue before with a Corekeeper server but thought it was an issue with Corekeeper at the time.

I am currently using playit.gg to port forward the game ports.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. start/run palworld server
  2. Check in on server from main PC using the AMP web interface
  3. Shutdown Main pc

Actions taken to resolve so far:

Amp is server software that is literally running on your PC. If you shut that PC down it’s going to kick everyone off. If you want the server to stay up 24/7, you need to either leave your computer up that entire time or get a VPS.

Sorry I probably should have detailed my post a bit more. To clarify, I have AMP running on a separate mini PC. I interface with AMP on a separate desktop through the web GUI. I’ll update my post to reflect that.

Are your router settings forwarding to the Mini PC server then? I suspect that you have them pointed at your computer.

That is the right direction. But I found the solution was not due to AMP itself

I love how after caving in and asking questions on a forum it always ends up leading you to finding a solution on your own after you’ve gone and bother folks.

FOR THOSE WHO COME AFTER AND ARE USING PLAYIT .GG

I had forgotten Playit.gg port forwarding has implemented a system where you download their software onto your PC to connect the tunnels to.

I had downloaded that application on my main pc and not my mini pc where my server was located. Thus, when I shutdown my PC that application also shuts down cutting off everybody who was on the server.

SOLUTION
Download the playit.gg software on the same PC you’re running your server off of and go through their setup process. If you have already created tunnels on your main PC like I did just transfer them to the new Agent you create on your Server PC.
